| What is Solar ATAP? |

| Solar ATAP is a consumer solar PV program effective 1 January 2026 , replacing the Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme. It allows electricity consumers to use solar energy for self-consumption, with limited export to the grid for bill offset. |

Who is eligible for
Solar ATAP? |
 |
- Existing TNB consumers
- Domestic and non-domestic premises
- Not multi-tenant
- Not under any other programme (such as NEM or SELCO), or the current programme must be terminated prior to application
FiT programme user under a normal electricity supply account (not a dedicated FiT account with TNB)) |

| What are the capacity limits? |
 |
| Domestic |
- Single phase: up to 5 kWac (CCC required if exceeding limits)
- Three phase: up to 15 kWac (CCC required if exceeding limits)
- Proper surge protection to prevent short circuits.

| Non-domestic |
- Up to 100% of Maximum Demand
- Maximum cap : 1 MWac
|

How are export
credits calculated? |
 |
- Domestic : credited atEnergy Charge (RM0.2703/kWh or RM0.3703/kWh)
- Non-domestic : credited at Average SMP
Credits apply only within the same billing month. |

| Can unused credits be carried forward? |
 |
| No. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing period and cannot be carried forward or converted into cash. |

| Is there a limit to how much energy can be exported? |
 |
| Yes. Export is capped by Maximum Allowable Quantity (MAQ):Installed Capacity × 5 Sun-Hours × Billing Days |

| What charges can export credits offset? |
| Export credits can offset energy charges only. They cannot offset: |
- AFA
- SST
- Other non-energy charges

| Are batteries allowed under Solar ATAP? |
| Export credits can offset Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are allowed but optional. |

| |
| What technical requirements apply? |
- Behind-the-meter connection
- PV export meter installed by applicant
- CCC / CAS / PSS approvals depending on size and voltage
- Applicant bears any grid upgrade costs

| How long is the Solar ATAP contract? |
| Up to 10 years. After contract expiry, systems operate as self-consumption only. |
